Recently, China University of Petroleum-Beijing (CUP) and Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University (IOGU) held an online working meeting to have in-depth discussions on the joint center cooperation between the two universities and to promote comprehensive cooperation. Zhang Guangqing, Vice President of CUP and officials from the International Office attended the meeting.

Atamanov Bayrammyrat, the President of IOGU, expressed gratitude for CUP’s efforts to promote the establishment of the center, detailing the progress of the agreement, the proposed timing of signing and relevant arrangements. Zhang Guangqing noted that energy cooperation between China and Turkmenistan is of great strategic significance, and this joint center will provide a solid platform for Turkmenistan to cultivate high-level leaders in the field of oil and gas, and further deepen the practical cooperation among the two countries in energy education.
During the meeting, the two sides held a full discussion on the text of the agreement, reached agreement on the content of the text and consensus on future cooperation in all aspects.
Established in 2012, IOGU has 7 departments and 10 major, with more than 6,000 students. It stands as a leading university in Turkmenistan for nurturing high-end talent in the energy and information technology sectors.
